Multi Grain Dosa

Important caution: Millet is not a superfood for people having some health issues/allergies. So before consuming millet just consult a nutritionist/ a doctor.

Here I followed the ratio that we use for making normal dosa.
5 cups grains and 1 cup black urad dhal.
We all know that millet, red rice, red aval and black urad dhal have many health benefits and are good for people to maintain weight/ shed extra weight.
Ingredients:
    1.      Broken Matta rice – 2 cup
2.      Ragi - 1 cup
3.      Kambu-1 cup
4.      Thinnai- 1 cup
5.      Red Aval – 1 cup
6.      Black urad dhal- 1 ¼ cup
7.      Salt to taste
8.      oil for cooking dosa.

To Make Multi Grain Dosa Batter:

1.     1stExcept black urad dhal washed the rest of the grains well and soak them for 3 hours.

2.     Separately wash and soak the black urad dhal for 5 -6 hours.

3.     Now in a mixer jar/ grinder add the black urda dhal with skin by draining the water. just grind the urda dhal to a soft fluffy consistency by sprinkling water occasionally.

4.     Then transfer it into a blow and keep it aside.

5.     Now in a mixer jar/grinder add all the soaked grains and add enough water and grind it into a fine batter consistency.

6.     Then transfer this batter into the urad dhal batter bowl.

7.     Now add the required amount of salt and mix well so that salt, urad dhal batter and grains batter combine together.

8.     Then allow the batter to ferment for 6-8 hours. Or until the batter ferments well.

Now Multi Grain Dosa batter is ready.

To Make Multi Grains Dosa:

1.     Heat a dosa tava.

2.      Before making the dosa mix the fermented dosa batter well.

3.     once the dosa tava is hot add 1 -2 medium ladles of batter and make it a dosa shape by spreading the batter in a circular motion.

4.     Then add ½ tsp oil on the sides and allow to cook the dosa on 1 side.

5.     Once it’s cooked on 1 side, flip it to the other side and cook until it’s completely cooked.

finally cooked dosa

6.     Then take the dosa and serve it.

Now yummy and healthy Multi Grain Dosa is ready.

Note:

1.     You can add even other millets also.

2.     Similarly, you can sprout the millet’s and soak them.

3.     Using the same dosa batter you can even make idly too.

4.     Black urad dhal takes longer time to soak then the white.
