Carrot Halwa (Rich in method)

Image
The carrot halwa recipe I showed here is a little time-consuming, yet very delicious and will taste like a star hotel recipe. I cooked carrots completely in milk and used condensed milk too. *Adding a pinch of salt to the sweet recipe will enhance the sweetness of the dish. For any milk sweet ensure to add salt once the milk is completely absorbed. Else there is a chance of milk getting curdled. Ingredients: 1.      Grated carrot - 1 cup 2.      Boiled Milk-1 Cup 3.      Sugar-1/2 cup 4.      Sweeten Condensed milk- 1/3 Cup 5.      Ghee -1/4 cup 6.      Pinch of salt   The ingredient shown in the image is for the purpose of the picture and not as per the ratio mentioned.  To Make Carrot halwa: 1.      Take a heavy bottom or non-stick kadai. 2.      Heat the kadai and add 3 tbsp of ghee and slightly fry 1 cup of carrot for 30 seconds . 3.      Now add entire 1 cup of milk and cook the carrot for 95% (milk also should be absorbed 95%) 4.      At thi

There are a few variations in appam recipes. The recipe I showed here is gut friendly for people facing gut issues like acidity, gastritis and IBS. The reason for gut-friendly is I replaced appam soda/ yeast with 1 ladle of fermented dosa batter and by doubling the ratio of fenugreek seed. Ingredients: 1.      Raw rice- 1 cup 2.      Idly rice-1 Cup 3.      Urad Dhal-1 tbsp 4.      Fenugreek seed- 1 tbsp 5.      Coconut -1/2 cup- grated 6.      Salt to taste 7.      Sugar -1/2 tbsp. 8.      fermented dosa batter- 1 ladle 9.      coconut milk -1 ladle(optional)     Soaking time:           Wash the above ingredients (1-4) and soak them well.        Soak both rice and dhal for 3 – 4 hours & fenugreek for 6                       hours or overnight.     Grinding method: 1.                        In the mixer jar/grinder add all the soaked items (1-4) and grind them to            95% smooth batter consiste

I thank my aunty (dad's sister) for teaching me this easy method. This is a beginner’s Mysore pak where you don’t have to take sugar syrup or roast the gram flour in ghee.   The ratio for this Mysore Pak : 1:2:1(1 Gram flour; 2: sugar;1: ghee) Cooking time: 10-12 minutes Ingredients: 1.      Gram flour- 1 cup(sieved) 2.      White Sugar-2 Cup 3.      Ghee-1 cup(melted) 4.      Water-1/4-1/2 cup   To Make Mysore Pak: 1.      A dd all the above ingredients to  a bowl   and mix well without any lumps . (flowing consistency) 2.        Transfer the mixture to the kadai and switch on the stove. 3.      Now without taking a hand stir continuously for 10 to 12 minutes on low flame. 4.      As shown in the picture the texture keeps changing gradually. 5.        When you see many small bubbles and holes in the mixture , then switch off the stove . It’s a clear indication that Mysore Pak is cooked. 6.      One more indication is that the mixtu
