Sabja Seed Ginger-Mint Lemonade
Before getting
into the preparation let’s know some information about this sabja seeds
1.
Sabja seeds, also
known as basil seeds, Falooda seed or
Turkmaria seed.
2.
The basil plant
is native to India.
3.
It is also called
sweet basil but is different from the Holy Basil or Tulsi, which is common in
every Indian household and credited for its immunity-boosting properties.
4.
The herbs of the
basil plant is known to be very healthy and so are the seeds.
Sabja seeds are popularly
used in Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine
and have many more health benefits that you may have not known.

Word of caution:
Children and pregnant women should avoid
consuming sabja seeds. Young kids could choke on these seeds if they are not
mixed well with water. In the case of pregnant women, these seeds are known to lower
down the levels of estrogen in the body. It is best to consult your doctor if
you’re pregnant or suffering from any other ailments before adding sabja seeds
to your diet.
Ingredients:
1. 1 Lemon
2. 2 tsp sabja seeds
3. ½ Inch ginger
4. Some mint leaves
5. 2 tsp honey
6. 2 cups of Water
Soaking
Sabja Seeds:
Sabja
seeds cannot be included directly to your diet.
It has to be soaked in water for
about 15-20mts. After which it turns into a jelly form and it’s ready to consume now.
Ratio:
Approximately for 1 tsp of sabja seed add 2 tablespoon
of water.
For making ginger- mint lemonade:
1. In a mixer jar add ginger, mint leaves & some
water and blend it well. Now strain the juice mixture and keep it aside.
2. To the above
mixture squeeze 1 full lemon and mix it well by adding the required amount
of water (ensure the juice is not too sour. If it’s sour add some extra water).
Now ginger- mint lemonade is ready.
To
assemble
1. Take a juice glass in that
· At bottom
add 2 tsp of sabja seed
· 2 tsp of honey (or) as per your sweet level
· Now add the ginger- mint lemonade
Now, healthy
& refreshing body coolant sabja seed ginger- mint lemonade is
ready.
Note:
1. The quantity of the ingredients may vary depending
upon your taste.
2. I generally use room temperature water. But you
can use cold water (or) ice cubes too.
3. Instead of
honey, you can use sugar (or) Jaggery too.
