Beginner’s Mysore Pak

I thank my aunty (dad's sister) for teaching me this easy method.

This is a beginner’s Mysore pak where you don’t have to take sugar syrup or roast the gram flour in ghee.

The ratio for this Mysore Pak:

1:2:1(1 Gram flour; 2: sugar;1: ghee)

Cooking time: 10-12 minutes

Ingredients:

1.     Gram flour- 1 cup(sieved)

2.     White Sugar-2 Cup

3.     Ghee-1 cup(melted)

4.     Water-1/4-1/2 cup

To Make Mysore Pak:

1.     Add all the above ingredients to a bowl and mix well without any lumps. (flowing consistency)

2.      Transfer the mixture to the kadai and switch on the stove.

3.     Now without taking a hand stir continuously for 10 to 12 minutes on low flame.

4.     As shown in the picture the texture keeps changing gradually.

5.      When you see many small bubbles and holes in the mixture, then switch off the stove. It’s a clear indication that Mysore Pak is cooked.

6.     One more indication is that the mixture does not stick to the pan and combines together.

7.  Then immediately transfer it into a plate greased with ghee or lined with a butter sheet. Level it up once cooled a bit cut it into pieces and serve.

Now delicious easy mysore pak is ready.

Note:

1.     Ensure to a use heavy bottom pan. If not, it will get burnt easily

2.     Water is added just to ensure the batter is in flowing consistency. So, after mixing 1st three ingredients to adjust the batter consistency, add water.

3.     Where you can go wrong is if you don’t turn off the stove at the right consistency then u will get hard Mysore pak.

4.     If want pores mysore pak like how we get in shops, add a pinch of cooking soda when the mixture starts combining together.

5.     Depending upon the cooking range cooking time will vary.
